Where do you usually perform?

Most of my shows are at private parties in private homes or take place at private corporate affairs. I have performed for schools, universities, churches, private companies, corporate events, malls, sales meetings, fundraisers, and for fraternal organizations. Most of my clients are in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Orange Counties. For the record, I am willing to travel, but there is a travel fee included in the price of the show package.

How long does your act last?

Whether you select my stage show, stand-up, or close-up show, the length of each will last approximately 45-60 minutes. There is a great deal of audience participation, humor, ad-libbing, and interplay with the audience, so if we're really having a great time it can go a bit longer.

Any show can be extended or shortened, as the client may desire.

Do you perform for children?

Absolutely, I have performed in the children's birthday market for the last seven years.

Children provide me a unique opportunity to unleash my silliness and sense of fun. Adults on the other hand, allow me to express a different level of wit and my unique humor.

In my Children's Birthday Party Magic Show, the birthday child receives special attention and the show is personalized with multiple kid show packages offered.

Do you use animals in your act?

Absolutely! A magician has got to have a rabbit, right? I actually have two working rabbits; Trixie and Maybelline. We call her Maybelline because being a Hotot rabbit of French origin, she has black bands around her eyes, so it looks like she went a little too heavy on the eyeliner. Not to worry, it's natural. No makeup is applied prior to the show.

Usually one of the rabbits has the night off while the other works, so one of them appears in the grand finale of the show.

Why at the end? Well, because it's the perfect ending to the show, and quite frankly, so that I don't get upstaged. There's no competing with a cute little rodent.

Guests can meet and greet the rabbit if they like immediately following the performance.

Do you have references?

Absolutely! In fact, you may want to avoid any performer who balks at the idea of supplying you with a list of satisfied clients.

If you desire, I can provide you with a list of references either via email or by telephone. You'll notice several audio testimonials on the site as well as written testimonials on the "Testimonials" page.

How long have you been performing magic?

I have been performing magic since I was ten years old.

I got a Marshall Brodien Magic Kit for Christmas in 1972 and started doing shows for my family. Within a year, I performed my first show at St. Anne's, an old folks' home across the street.

Reading all that I could and visiting the magic shop in downtown Oklahoma City, eventually I was hired as a magic demonstrator. Several high school assemblies proved fruitful as I took first place in two different talent shows.

In 1980 as an entree into the corporate magic world, I teamed up with another local magician and represented "The Magic of CMI" at the State Fair of Oklahoma. At the time, I didn't know this was called tradeshow magic.

After a 14-year reprieve from my live performance art, I resumed my magic career after a friend doggedly stayed on me about getting back to what I loved as a child.

That one measly phone call to a gruff old codger with the "stick-with-me-kid-and-I'll-make-you-a-star" attitude paid off. Frankly, I needed someone to take me sight unseen, and he did. I worked two years for him and he only saw my act once. But, I needed the flight time to get my performance legs back.

Today, I thank God for her insistence, although I was somewhat annoyed at the time. Had I not taken a little tiny bit of action, I never would have returned to "the stage" as they say, and discovered how much joy there is in performing live for people.

Since then, I have the time of my life and loving every magic minute of it.

How far in advance do you need to be booked?

Sooner is always better than later. Never have I heard a client complain, "Boy, I'm sorry I booked so far in advance! I'll never do that again."

In fact, it's always best to book as early as possible in order to get the EXACT date and time that you desire rather than waiting too long, and being disappointed by not getting the performer you really want. It's not worth the risk.

My advice: Book now and stay happy.

How would you best describe your act?

The best way I can describe my act is to say that I am a variety arts entertainer doing comedy, magic, and humor-based entertainment.

The magic I perform is universal in appeal. By "universal" I mean, magic that has come to be known as classic; visually appealing and enthralling to whomever experiences it.

The humor in the show is never foul or blue, but I have been known to occasionally, depending on the audience, walk up to the line and visit the idea of crossing it. Essentially, it's always best to play clean and I do.

Because the show contains so much humor and audience participation, people that are not necessarily magic aficionados or fans are surprised to find out how much they truly enjoy the show. Why? Because I stick by one basic rule: entertainment first, magic second. Quite frankly, people would rather laugh than be amazed. So, I do both. It's a win-win for everyone.

When the magic is good and at the same time audiences laugh invariably people respond positively. Hey, what more could you want?

Are you a member of the Magic Castle?

Yes, I am a member of the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. My first professional performance at the Castle was January 23, 2003.

Becoming a member and actually performing at the Magic Castle fulfilled a lifelong dream for me. Who could've imagined that that kid from Oklahoma City, that used to practice in the utility shed in the backyard, appeared in the Parlour of Prestidigitation of the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, California. The day of my performance I was simultaneously nervous and thrilled, but mostly thrilled.

As a benefit to my customers and friends, I willingly offer guest passes allowing entrance to parties of eight or fewer into this famed and exclusive private club.
